Covert Decanter
Covert Decanter is part of Covert Estate's specialty selection, with its known format, function, materials, and presentation kept explicit. The decanter creates additional wine-to-air contact while giving sediment a chance to remain behind in the bottle during a careful pour. Use that exposure selectively: a young, structured wine may benefit from more air, while an older bottle should be tasted first and handled gently. Rinse promptly after service with warm water and follow the maker's cleaning guidance, since narrow channels, facets, and decorative finishes can require different care.
Allow the vessel to drain completely on a stable support before storage, keeping its rim and base away from harder glass or metal objects. Pour slowly and use good light when separating an older wine from sediment, stopping as soon as the deposit approaches the bottle shoulder. Set the decanter on a level surface with enough clearance for a steady pour and comfortable lifting once the wine is inside.
